Erin & Eric :: Snowy Engagement Pictures
I’m really starting to have fun with photography…I love how it’s evolving, trying to teach myself everything that I can, working on editing photos, and playing around with colors and compositions…but to get individuals to pose in front of a camera the way you see the final photo in your mind…now that is TOUGH! Seriously hard people…and I’ve had good models to practice with..but I’m learning what I need is..practice and more practice.
That’s why I was so excited when Erin (a co-worker and friend of Nick) emailed me and asked if I would like to take their engagements photos. They wanted to do a fun snowy love session, (how fun is that!) so we decided to shoot at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in Milwaukee. With the way our weather has been going, we are lucky we snuck in the shoot when we did. And let me tell you…these photos are deceiving..it was foggy, drizzly, rainy weather..really cold and miserable..as in we were passing around the hand warmers so we could function like normal humans, cold..but my models did their thang’ and look way adorable..wouldn’t you agree
Snowy weather calls for a snowball fight..you can’t see it here..but if you look close at their scarves there was a little Bears vs Packers rivalry going on…and we all know who took the final “W” here…sorry Erin
We even crashed a party during the shoot! It was the Schlitz Winter Festival so we crashed the S’mores booth and roasted {and ate} a few mallows.
And I can’t resist sharing this one…notice Sasquatch..my husband lurking in the background?? He didn’t quite make it out of the frame in time..but what a lovely assistant for carrying my idea binder, blanket, jackets, change of clothes, camera bag + bringing loads of entertainment to break up the awkwardness of an engagement shoot (come on, you know if you’ve been there how awkward it really is).
Beyond a great assistant, look at how crafty he is with his snowman prop skills
What a man.
And there was no better way that a warm cup of Alterra coffee to end the day.
Thank you Erin & Eric for letting me capture this time in your lives! We’re so excited for you and hope that we can make it to New Mexico for your big day!

Love it Katie! You’re doing a beautiful job.
Thanks mom!
Love the pics…especially the one with your assistant caught in the background…too cute! And the pics don’t look like it is cold at all! Nice work!
